Pastor Mickey and Wendy along with their daughter Logan began their ministry at Union Hill on Easter Sunday morning 2008. Raised on Sand Mountain in north Alabama, Mickey was no stranger to church. In fact, it was at 2-weeks old he made his first appearance into the church sanctuary. From that day forward, church would be a major part of his life.
Music quickly became his love and passion. It would be the words to a song used by the Holy Spirit to convict Mickey of his sins and prompt him to ask Jesus into his life at the age of 8. From that day forward, music was his life. It was at the age of 10, he began traveling with several local groups playing instruments in everything from church services to fairs to concerts. This would continue throughout his high school days. In fact, Mickey opted to miss his Jr. and Sr. prom due to a concert already booked.
At the age of 17 while a junior in high school, another calling came upon Mickey's life. It was then he would accept the call to the preaching ministry. Licensed a year later after graduating high school, Mickey knew from that point his ministry would be centered around the pastor's position. After spending several years on the road with artists: New Ground, The Steeles, Tony Gore & Majesty and The Nelons, Mickey knew it was time to come home and start a family.
It was then he would meet his life partner and teammate in the ministry. Wendy Jones was born and raised in Arab, Alabama. She is the 1995 graduate of Arab High School and joins Mickey full-time supporting and encouraging in all areas of ministry. Wendy loves working with drama teams featuring our teenagers and supporting all Women's ministry events. But ask her what her true calling is and she will quickly give you an answer: Shopping!
